Help Obang Metho and The Solidarity Movement

The Genocide Case Against Meles Zenawi In the aftermath of the 2005 Ethiopian Election, soon after Meles Zenawi declared live on Ethiopian Television that the security services, police and army were under his direct control, his TPLF security forces (Agazi) massacred 193 people who protested against election fraud in June and November 2005. The victims were shot, beaten and strangled. The demonstrators were unarmed, yet the majority died from shots to the head. Many people were killed arbitrarily, old men were killed while in their homes, and children were also victims of the attack while playing in the garden.

“We also believe that the Ethiopian people have been waiting long enough for genuine justice and relief from the harsh oppression and brutal tactics committed by a government that purports to be a partner in the War on Terror” Dr. Gregory Stanton, President of Genocide Watch. Dr. Greg Stanton, the Founder and President of Genocide Watch, and the President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, created the Eight Stages of Genocide to provide a methodical analysis to predict, and prevent genocides. The Eight Stages of Genocide are: Classification, Symbolization, Dehumanization, Organization, Polarization, Preparation, Extermination, and Denial.Th Woyane leader Meles Zenawi of Ethiopia, whose government has also beenimplicated in a pattern of widespread perpetration of serious human rights atrocities in Ethiopia . He and those within his government may be keenly aware of their own vulnerability to similar actions by the ICC in the future that could upend a deeply entrenched system of government-supportedimpunity that has protected perpetrators from any accountability.I first became knowledgeable regarding the abhorrent human rights situation in Ethiopia when Genocide Watch and Survivors Rights International were called by the head of the Anuak Justice Council, ObangMetho, (now the leader of the newly formed Solidarity Movement for a New Ethiopia) to investigate the brutal massacre of 424 Anuak carried out in Gambella, Ethiopia in December of 2003. The Anuak are atiny, dark-skinned ethnic group who live in a remote section of southeastern Ethiopia.
